So, funnily enough, I've never been into this whole djent scene. A couple years ago I had heard that Bulb EP, Is It Can Be Album Timez or something like that and there was one song that I really took a liking to - Buttersnips. I was completely out of the know with regard to djent after that. A couple of weeks ago however, I went to this gig where Revocation were playing (awesome tech. thrash btw) opening for Darkest Hour (who surprisingly put on a decent live show). There were two other bands on the tour, but I hadn't heard of their stuff - Periphery and Veil Of Maya. What a surprise it was when Periphery pulled out Buttersnips - great stuff! The Revocation guitarist filled me in on the blanks when I was having a beer with him later on (Misha yada yada).

Djent is pretty boring to me, and the vocals are usually annoying as FUCK, but the people who play it are pretty damn talented and the live gigs can be good fun as long as you've had your fair share of beer.

^^^ If its Misha Mansoor you're talking of, he plays in Periphery, and is Bulb. Not Revocation. You just met and had beer with supposedly, the father of Djent.

No no, the Revocation dude, David, told me about Misha playing in Bulb and then going onto form Periphery etc. I wasn't that out of it
