... that I just don't fucking get? I know metal is a lot of things to different people, but when I hear that core shit, all I can visualize is an angsty under-20 dude screaming hoarse about his life. I had the same problem with high-pitched vocalists from the 80s, it got on my nerves. Sometimes I hear some crazy instrumentals from some core bands, but the moment the vocals kick in, I shut it off in disgust.

Say something to make me change my approach towards core. Make me believe it's not a dude who just broke up with his girlfriend. I can't listen to teenage metal, I need to listen to dudes who are singing about serious stuff, even though I don't listen to the lyrics.

It is just that. The thing is, it is a case of just syaing it right. It is not that "you don't get it", it is that "you should not get it." Because if you DO get it, the decadence of brain is complete.


In all seriousness, I don't see the point in trying to understand this breed of metal. It seems like a colossal waste of time because no matter how much anyone tries, if a form of music is not for them, it is just not for them.

I, for one, cannot stand XYZcore. Some notable grind variants exist, but that's the extent of it. Most of the other stuff seems to be exactly perceived by my head the same way as you described as your perception of it. It might be inaccurate, but whatt he hell.

Fair enough. Grindcore I get, but then there's some searing brutality in it. The moment I hear a *whineeee---- rooaaar*, I just switch off. The comp and my brain.

Surprising, none of the core-fans(lulz) defended their beloved genre. I is disappoint.

Chimp Spanner is actually pretty decent. Maybe because it is an instrumental project.

Chimp Spanner is beautiful. Djent is a bit repetitive, but Paul does it well.

Also, core has some sick instrumentals.... a friend of mine who likes core, played some for me. But point is, the moments the vocals kick in, the instruments feel like a lie. And that made me really uncomfortable... especially because I liked the instrumental parts.
