Seriously? Annoying fanboys counts as a criticism of the band now'? Well then you might as well pack up the metal subforum, cuz more than half of the metalheads in our country can't even type a sentence without betraying their total lack of brains.
And just as you continue to hate on metalheads and generalize, I do the same! At least I'm not denying my reasons. I would have ignored T00l as a half-decent band if their fanboys hadn't made such a racket.

Tool sells music. The image has built around them, but they don't really put a lot of effort into marketing that image. But even if they did, name one band that doesn't. In fact, compared to a lot of other bands I know, their image is at least rooted in reality and relevant to their music.
Sure. If their image was so rooted in their music, why is it that they need those gimmicks to sell their shit? Hell, even SlipKnot used gimmicks but damn they wrote a good song here and there. Admit it, most Tool fans are like SlipKnot fans. Maybe worse.
Lemme tell you what Tool is. AVERAGE music meets hipster image. BIG bucks. Good individual musicians in there, but band fails.
@Asmo: Sure, but if I had to listen to a bassist, there's a bunch of awesomer bands, you know?
