Well I again went to many many concerts in 2010 but to narrow it down to the ones I enjoyed the most...

Large Venue:

RUSH (Masters of their craft.. & a killer spellbinding show)

Alice In Chains/ Deftones / Mastodon (Great triple bill & AIC was fantastic)

Mid Venue:

MSG / Lynch Mob / Sister Sin (AMAZING SHOW all 3 bands were on fire )

ANVIL (A killer sold the fuck out show & during the Olympics to boot)

Steel Panther (More fun that you can shake your hair too...and the guitarist is from FIGHT)

KREATOR (My favorite European Thrash Band)

Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experiance (Killer songs , tight band , sweet long setlist)

X-JAPAN (Fantastic over the top band )

DANZIG / POSSESSED (Two legends in one night , superb on all counts) ( MARDUK, TOXIC HOLOCAUST & WITHERED were the opening bands and were good to great as well )

Small Venue:

ADLER'S APPETITE (One of the best performances I have seen....in any year...I truly felt like I was watching Gn'R back in their club days...(even Slash ,who I seen a few weeks later, could not upstage these guys), plus they played ALL of Appetite For Destruction !! )

Entropia / Gross Misconduct / INFERNAL MAJESTY / Brutal Truth (Fantastic bill )

OVERKILL (Still sound fantastic and and make you feel like you are back in the 80's)

RAVEN (Never thought I would see them in my neck of the woods.... killer band)

Here is my review of the Danzig / Possessed concert:

I got there about 7pm, and was inside the venue just as the first band started playing...

Withered were ok ...at the end of their set, I was able to get a spot right at the front of the stage against the barricade for the rest of the night

Toxic Holocaust was next, and sounded better than the first band.

Then MARDUK did an inspired set and were a real good solid band.

So far each band had been better than the one before ..... and the next band kept the trend intact.

POSSESSED came on and laid down the Death Metal Law
It was an honor to see POSSESSED for my first time,

...A few young fools (early 20's) who were obviously there to see MARDUK kind of pissed me off with how they were putting down POSSESSED (and Judas Priest) as Possessed were setting up their equipment... stupid shit like "Oh look , they are the only band with 2 bass drums...that is so 80's , you can play just as fast with one drum nowadays..."..."Ha, These guys still have their 80's hair style , and the drummer is wearing a Judas Priest shirt and the even the guitarist has the 80's Priest stud armbands...I bet they wont be half as good as Marduk" and other stupid shit i wont bother to write down....

From the first song till the last, Possessed just straight up kicked all kinds of ass ...and the first 3 bands should count their blessings to even be on the same stage as these guys...

(I got to meet most of the Possessed guys after the concert, and they were all very cool and humble ) and even caught a pick from from one of the guitarists.

After the set , the fool and his posse had their stupid condescending smirks torn off their faces by some real old skool metal , and left the front of the stage area.

Then the set chage for DANZIG started and even during the soundcheck I could tell the sound was going to be great.

The whole band was in fantastic form , with great vocals, heavy drums, excelent guitar playing and I even got a Danzig pick from the Bass player and a Prong pick with Tommy Victors name on the flip side , from the Guitarist.

The majority of the setlist was from the first 4 killer Danzig albums and a few new songs as well.

The only way it could have been better is if they played even longer.... but it was fantastic to see Danzig for my first time...

The second song was Twist Of Cain ....and it was one great track after another from there (Like: Tired of Being Alive, Her Black Wings, How The Gods Kill , Thirteen, Bringer Of Death, etc, etc ) ....and ended with Mother....

Then they came back for an encore of two amazing songs...

SHE RIDES (I have always thought this would be a killer song for girls to strip to)

And

AM I DEMON (with its cool Priest style riff)

A fantastic way to end the night

Then it was time to have a bite to eat and drive home... I got home as my wife was waking up and asked her to wake me up in an hour so I could get ready for work....

My co-workers still shake their head in disbelief that I am able to come to work with only an hour of sleep and never drag my ass around...LOL

The only gig I attended in 2010 was the Devoid album launch in Bangalore. It was sufficiently entertaining. Although Albatross bored my fucking pants off, I reckon Devoid managed to salvage the evening.

Edit: Guthrie Govan in Madras. Jaw drops aplenty.

^ I bet most people thought Guthrie Govan must have Madras roots. His dad's name must have been speculated to be Ilan Govan.

Sorry. Kadi joke.
