OSI - Free.

Funny I hadn't heard of these guys before Bhanuj told me about them, but that's probably because they aren't really metal. They sound more like Porcutree, maybe softer. The heavy songs however are groovy as hell, I've enjoyed all the albums I heard. This is a project between the Fates Warning guitarist Jim Matheos and ex-DT keyboardist Kevin Moore. Pretty cool, a definite listen.

Also playing Scribe's Teja today. Just feel like listening to something senseless yet powerful. :P

Band: Aborym

Album: Generator

It is really unfortunate that most-Black Metal listeners have a massive contempt for anything that deviates from the regular raw sound. The reviews on this one have constantly called it an average release, and that's a pity. Generator took a while to grow on me, but is now firmly one of my favourite new-BM releases.

I guess it helps that I have always had a liking for Industrial sounding extreme metal works. When combined with BM (and some forms of extreme metal), the outcome is glorious. Anaal Naathrakh did it beautifully. Blut Aus Nord and Thorns being my other favourites in this genre. Not exactly the same, but Napalm Death is worth noting too. They pioneered this, so credit where it's due.

This is highly recommended for those who like the aforementioned bands, and also possess a liking for BM (not the can't hear anything necrokvlt bullshit, but the genre in general).

Speaking of which, I am yet to check out Anaal Nathrakh's latest album. Will definitely post a review once I spin that. Can't fucking wait.

^ Post-metal? Not possible. Also, as a matter of principle, I try to avoid music penned in French by non-Frenchies. As if I have not been tortured enough by the local music here, now I have to listen to foreigners do the same crap? Hells noes!

Its just the song title, the song is in English. The title comes from a Jeff Buckley song.

Tabla Beat Science.

It's an experimental project by some very famous musicians like Zakir Hussain, Karsh Kale, Bill Laswell and so on. A must listen for all.
