The attitude tht RSJ is showing to promote rock music in india is totally wrong . If rock music is to be popularised among da mass ppl all over india then regional languages must be entertained. Otherwise it will be confined in some metropolitan cities and among some english speaking literate(?) persons only. Composing and performing music in english only, wont serve any purpose..and its a fact tht many bands who sing in their mother toungues in india are far better than many english bands over there. As an example, in da rock scenario, bangladesh, i dont thing is legging behind india, but it is much ahead of india. Most of the bands there perform in their mother toungue bengali and they have been able to take it to the mass ppl and popularise it. Music has no language barrier...if someone can sing in english it doesn't necessarily prove tht tht guys is a better rocker. Apart from promoting english bands,RSJ also should promote non english bands for the future of rock music in India......

And yes...rock music does not only mean some fucking metalcore and death bands. good mainstream metal and hard rock bands are gradually becoming extinct...care for them dude....

Kushalda, we've featured Avial and Advaita in the latest issue. We've also featured bands from the North-East in the cover story feature "North East Rising".

The choice of having a band featured also depends on its appeal to our wider audience and that might be a reason why some bands haven't been on the pages of the magazine yet.

However, rather than question our attitude, if you sent us demo CDs / albums we could listen to, we *might* be able get the word about these bands out into the open.

first you differentiate between english n non english.. then you go onto to say music has no language barriers.. r u retarded ?

i dont think rsj discriminates.. but im pretty sure most of the junta will boo you.. trust me we has lot of wannabes.
i for one.. havnt heard regional rock or metal that i liked anyway.. except for a few

and yeah but imo.. RSJ is about english music in a country that is not. .. so let the hindi stuff be handled by other lame music mags.
rsj is not for the whole junta and it should never be. it should stay niche.. .... and literate

and if yr so regional.. then dont play rock babumoshai... go play your regional music.. but no.. you wanna play western music and make a fuss about singing in a western language.. which by the way is the 1st language now in your country and in your schools

its not only bengali. rock music scene in srilanka and pakistan seems to be very much developed and they dont just cater their lyrics in english. for instance, Tang Dynasty had been in the scene of metal for the last 2 decades. they not only compose in Chinese but pen their lyrics in mother tongue.

all the maggot brains seem to be in the doom of english colonialism yet.

in terms of popularity who else can challenge Bhoomi(Kolkata), Junoon(Pak), Indian Ocean(Delhi), Nagar Bowl, Miles, Warfaze(Bangladesh), Euphoria(Delhi) etc.

Nevertheless, we may surely say that rock n roll will survive in the hearts of all indians who doesn't like to be a bootlegger of english.

All I can say is if you're in a band and you sing with the same eloquence you used in your posts, it's no wonder you're venting here about being misunderstood.

RSJ is a private organisation and they can do whatever they please. They have no social or any obligation towards society or anyone. If Amit Saigal wants he can get his driver to headline GIR.
Kushal , open your own company and show them how its done. Be the change bro.

kushal u are not alone. lot others do believe likewise. and rest others havent even know the names of these 'aangreji' bands. lets see ; after 5 or 10 years whether a good number of mimic of lamb of God or Messugah rise out or rock n metal giants of Kolkata, Dhaka n Lahore rule this sub continent. i am in doubt dat apart from the admin rest msg senders are well aware of multilingual metal scene of asia.
