^ Oh come on, are you telling me the 2011's PG WWE is as good as the WWF of the late '90s? That's a bullshit comparison and you know that. None of the new bunch could hold a candle to the locker room WWF had back then. Not possible.
Plus, both the WWF & WCW stables back then had tremendously entertaining, risqué and intriguing storylines which were hard to take your eyes away from even once you understood the predictability of the heel/face/anti-hero wrestling story-writing style.
I thought Heyman-ECW was superb. Everything he did, his booking, his storytelling, and his ability to hide the flaws of his wrestlers was uncanny. I still haven't seen a better, longer, in depth feud than Raven VS Tommy Dreamer. Until the fingerpoke of doom in WCW, i bought NWO era & Goldberg era WCW as well. Same goes with the WWF. But, to say that none of the new bunch could hold a candle to the locker room WWF had back then is pure hogwash.
I mean, look at CM Punk. This guy lives his gimmick, he's solid on the mic, and he's a pretty darn innovative wrestler as well. A ring leader. I would've loved to see what he would do in the Attitude era, but sadly, that's gone now. Check out what he did at last year's Royal Rumble (he was leading his own stable back then - a cult like Straight Edge Society - kind of what the Jackal had with his Oddities before the Oddities went all friendly)
The same goes with Bryan Danielson. Wrestling as Daniel Bryan in the WWE, this guy should become the next Benoit / Bret Hart like figure - not the greatest of talkers, but a technician in the ring. A superb one at that.
