I thought everyone played well today, bar the last 5 mins where a bit of panic set in, but the real revelation, and not just for today but the last few months, has to be Lukasz Fabianksi. He's gone from a terrified little boy who used to quiver when balls were put in the box to a confident, commanding keeper and a great shot-stopper. Bye bye Almunia.
He's still got kinks to iron out, but yeah, at least now a 38 year old Schwarzer doesn't seem like an upgrade.
I'd have been very disappointed as Schwarzer would have been nothing more than a stop-gap solution. With Sczcesny (sp?) on the up and needing game time over the next couple of seasons, Fabianski's revival has been timely to say the least.
NLD this weekend. I love and hate this fixture in equal measure. The prospect of Bale and VdV against our defence is giving me nightmares ! Song will have to understand that he's not fucking Zidane and I hope Arsene tells Song that he'll be docked a week's pay for every time he enters the final third of the pitch. It's been getting us goals recently but leaves the back 4 with no protection.
Having said that, I'd like to see Theo start. Assou Ekotto will get rinsed and Bale might think twice before bombing forward. And Nasri will be licking his lips at the thought of lining up against Hutton.
