Ok so I've been stalking my new found,favourite thread for a while and now that butter chicken has been mentioned I feel that it is my Punjabi blood's prerogative to share the knowledge and experience i have acquired on it over the past 21 years.

Kabir my friend,even though I know you since school and I hold you culinary concepts in the highest regard due to you being an ex-fat ass,you have most certainly not eaten the best of the best butter chicken that this city has to offer.

Indubitably,the butter chicken from rainbows that I had on you birthday was rather scrumptious,it doesn't hold a candle against the butter chicken from these two places in C.P

1) Bhappe da Dhabba
2) Kakke da Hotel

Both are true to their names,dhabas but they have the BEST butter chicken I've eaten in town and trust me I've eaten LOTS of it.
These places are cheap,dingy,crowded but has an amazingly delicious array of mughlai non veg.
I highly recommend it to all of you meat lovers.
Oh and they're located a little before Blues,outer circle,to the left.

P.s. - Haathi,you're salivating a little bit aren't you? Chalte hai Mr. Optimist ke saath lol

Has anyone tried the new (or maybe its the relatively new) range of Mother Dairy ice creams? Cookie Crumb ice cream is one of the best I've ever had ! Not that I like eating ice creams but still !

Al-Bake has another outlet opposite to the main one. That's pretty clean.

I tried the Anjir flavor recently. That's fig for you English speaking patronizers. It was a fucking disappointment to say the least.
Tasted like a cross between litchi and tutti frutti bhencho.
I'll stick to gelatos thanks.

Also,the ultimate foodie paradise is Old Delhi.
For a true blue food expo,do yourself a favor on a sunny winter afternoon and go there.
Start off at Chandni chowk with mind blasting dahi bhalle and kachoris,proceed to jama masjid for the most delectable mughlai food and return to chandni chowk for shudh desi ghee,giant jalebis.

Fuck,I just finished dinner but I could still polish all that food off.

Ps- Parathe waali galli is an over rated,muck hole. Don't bother.

ITO paranthas own paranthay wali gali any given day, time. In fact the local cycle cholay kulcha wala CHapati can own Chandni chowk paranthas They make pooris out of parantha YUCK!!!

Butter chicken at bhappe/kakke in cp is shit. Their chicken curry and brain curry is the real deal.

Parathe wali gali food is so bad. I mean really. It's like NOT TASTY. But all said and done, it's a place I think one must go to atleast once, just for the feel factor. The lassi in that area is damn amazing. Oh, and Chandani Chowk mein there's this place which gives the best Dahi Bhallas, it's called Natraj, pretty famous I think.

Delhi has such killer places to eat, but why can't there be just 1, just 1 place like the pubs in Bangalore? Nice (relatively) music and videos , cheap beer with decent food. Morrison? Too bloody expensive I feel. And even these new places for gigs like Double Decker serve a pint for Rs300! That's like 5 star rates! The only place which comes close to the bangalore like pubs (Mojos, Purple Haze, Le rock etc) would be TC I think? How expensive or cheap is that??

And yet again, the food thread is slowly becoming a Delhi food thread. Kahaan hain baaki sab?

Anyhoo, i finally laid hands on a Kirti College ke paas vala Wada Pao the other day. Mind you, i've been in Mumbai since 1994, and so the expectations were quite fucking high. Though i loved the kurmura, the wada itself was too hot, tasteless, and the meethi chatni totally overpowered any other taste. The paos were pretty bad as well.

Went o Al-Kauser yeaterday. It definitely has the best best best Gilauti and Kakori Kebabs in town. I used to swear by the khan chacha kakori, but this was from another world! Their butter chicken was disappointing, although the gravy was pretty awesome, the chicken seemed a little uncooked. I guess it was just a one time thing cause last time i went there it was aweosme! Oh, and everything to be had with the varki parantha!
