Isnt it possible or why cant RSJ have a rule of sorts wherein bands who have consistently played at GIRs in previous yrs are not considered for the next 2-3 yrs or so..Nothing against the established names but as a fan would love to see more of new/fresh bands & talent..If the big bands are the benchmark..then i guess you will end up seeing the same big names every year..Its like predicting that out of the 12....6 bands are in there for sure..& i am sure if you have been around u know who they are..
The established acts need to pave way for the rest..That is if they allow them to do so..These bands need to look beyond GIR..& the new ones need to showcase themselves at GIR which is one of the biggest platforms in this country .is that too much to ask for ? & yeah there are many established acts out there who havnt played at GIR too..
It aint about BIG vs small bands..its about channelizing talent in the right way to actually make the most out of a music festival which every indian rock fan looks forward to every year.

oye wisdomtooth.. listen.. that +1 would hold good.. if DR and BM werent playing either... If scribe is left out because they are established and you wanna leave give a spot to younger bands (which i think is what gir is about anyway) .. then how do you explain DR n BM. how much more established do you have to be than DR ?
now if you took Scribes spot cuz they have played so many years in a row... then yes it makes sense to do it.. but again.. not this year.. they just released an album this year.. they should be playing in their home turf ( sahil dont correct me ). if scribe has been playing for the past 5-6 years then its not their fault is it.. maybe you should have thought about it after the first 2-3 and said.. meh... lets take a break from that for a while. but instead you manage to fuck up da game when they are probably in their hottest form yet.
on related note... id like to say the same thing i said on fb... scribe BM DR atleast these three shouldnt have to send entries and compete and be selected to play GIR. you already know how good they are and they cant be any more established within the scene itself.. what does one have to do to be treated olike a respectable band ? and if we dont treat our own like they should be.. then which white country would ? anyway I think its high time that rsj invites certain acts to play as headliners.. and leave the sending entries to the younger less established bands
