The attitude tht RSJ is showing to promote rock music in india is totally wrong . If rock music is to be popularised among da mass ppl all over india then regional languages must be entertained. Otherwise it will be confined in some metropolitan cities and among some english speaking literate(?) persons only. Composing and performing music in english only, wont serve any purpose..and its a fact tht many bands who sing in their mother toungues in india are far better than many english bands over there. As an example, in da rock scenario, bangladesh, i dont thing is legging behind india, but it is much ahead of india. Most of the bands there perform in their mother toungue bengali and they have been able to take it to the mass ppl and popularise it. Music has no language barrier...if someone can sing in english it doesn't necessarily prove tht tht guys is a better rocker. Apart from promoting english bands,RSJ also should promote non english bands for the future of rock music in India......
And yes...rock music does not only mean some fucking metalcore and death bands. good mainstream metal and hard rock bands are gradually becoming extinct...care for them dude....
first you differentiate between english n non english.. then you go onto to say music has no language barriers.. r u retarded ?
i dont think rsj discriminates.. but im pretty sure most of the junta will boo you.. trust me we has lot of wannabes.
i for one.. havnt heard regional rock or metal that i liked anyway.. except for a few
and yeah but imo.. RSJ is about english music in a country that is not. .. so let the hindi stuff be handled by other lame music mags.
rsj is not for the whole junta and it should never be. it should stay niche.. .... and literate
and if yr so regional.. then dont play rock babumoshai... go play your regional music.. but no.. you wanna play western music and make a fuss about singing in a western language.. which by the way is the 1st language now in your country and in your schools
