What is your take on the pricing for this years tickets for Great Indian Rock Festival?

I'll mostly be going to the Pune gig, so Rs 999 for TesseracT, Enslaved & Meshuggah is well worth it.

Sidenote: Why 999? Why not 1000? Doesn't it make it way easier to do the math?

It does make it easier to do the math. However, we wanted to keep the Bata legacy alive

If rumors are to be believed then the ticket prices for the Bryan Adams show are going to be Rs. 2000 - 3000/-

Nah baba, don't get me wrong here - i think the pricing for the Pune GIR gig is awesome. Just quibbling on the 999 thing. Why not make it 1000? Why the tribute to Bata?

2000 over two days is way too expensive. Maiden, LOG did not cost as much and they are way more commercially sucessful than Meshuggah,Tesseract.

It seriously does work. I've noticed it in working on me, despite being aware of the psychological process behind it. Apparently, the brain gives a lot of precedence to the first digit of a number, so when you see Rs.999, even though you know it's a thousand, part of your brain still thinks that it's a number in the 900s, and hence cheaper.

I'm astonished anyone can think it's too expensive, even after reading Amit's note.
