@Hari - Dei, it's pretty hard to NOT get good grades when you're at an impressionable age and your family drills it into you that scores of less than 90% will only result in career choices that range between "maadu meykardhu" and "kakkoos kazhuvardhu". I mean, I was never an animal person so the first was uninteresting, even if it did allow for loads of on-the-job R&R. As for the latter, if you've ever been inside an old timey tamil house, you know you don't wanna even use the facilities, let alone be the one sanitising it.

^ This is very true @ the latter part of the sentence. I once piled on to some relatives in Blore who lived in said old timey Tam house and it had the sort of sanitation levels that make a Sulabh Shauchalay look as sterile and antiseptic as the rest rooms in a German airport. Apart from terrible loos, they also seemed to be living in some re-enactment of Joe's Apartment. I went into the kitchen the first night for a glass of water and there seemed to be no part of that place that wasn't covered with roaches. It was like a Biblical motherfucking plague in there. The next morning i could taste roach gunk in my coffee and had to use every reserve of self control to not be violently sick. I actually called the airline, advanced my ticket and flew out early.

It was quite a surprise indeed. Since my last post here, I bought a new car, saw my fav. band play live and quit smoking
