I thought Kick Ass was great. Nick Cage for the first time since Adaptation puts on a great performance. His tongue in cheek homage to Adam West was probably my favourite moment from all the films I saw last year.

@Sri: Aha, so you love Scott Pilgrim and are disdainful of Kick Ass? The incongruity continues! We are truly blessed.

I saw Unstoppable. Now that's a prime example of how to phone in an entire movie.

Sullivan's Travels - a snappy and amusing movie by Preston Sturges about a film director that wants to experience poverty and suffering so he can make a movie about it. The slapstick elements are hit-n-miss but the dialog is hilarious (and, when it needs to be, biting) and the acting is uniformly professional.

Watched "Unstoppable". Enjoyed it very much.

Watched "Takers". Enjoyed it very much too despite it's glossy, style-over-substance take on Heat, The Town etc..

So Heat wasn't in itself a glossy style-over-substance venture?

Re-watched after a long while, Interview with The Vampire. Detailed impressions on my blog HERE

I think perhaps you've confused the seminal bank heist movie with something Jag Mundhra might have made. 8-)

"seminal" is right. Pacino and De Niro were lazily wanking off through most of the film...and the climax seemed to be ripped off from Ramesh Sippy's Shakti, a film that had a fear greater interest factor for me.

Anyway I saw The Stone Tape, a pretty interesting BBC produced movie about a scientific team working on storage technologies that sets up office in an old house, only to find it haunted, and then sets out to analyze the haunting phenomena. Good writing from Nigel 'Quatermass' Kneale and solid British acting make this worth the look see.

I'm not quite sure what the word seminal in quotes achieved apart from reinforcing my point but hey, to each his own right ? You dont think it's all that great and thats cool. 8-)

Re-watched Zodiac today. While I liked this the first time I saw it in the theater, I loved it more on revisiting. Brilliantly plotted and paced and superb performances all around (especially liked Mark Ruffalo as investigator David Toschi). David Fincher's best overall film, methinks.
